Then I realised that most of the shots are direct references to random images on the internet (not just Hundley’s work), this raises lots of interesting questions. How would it be different if the entire video had been sourced from Hundley’s work? Does Hundley have the right to be upset about it? If the sourced images were well-known (like the Weezer video) it would be obvious that Schofield wasn’t trying to pass these ideas off as his own, so what does it mean for him to have used really obscure images?

Coincidentally, I messaged an lj community I watch earlier today urging them to crack down on sourcing and crediting images posted in the community. Generally speaking, all images are credited to the user’s tumblr account, which also lacks sufficient sources. In the age of creditless, sourceless tumblogs, weheartits, and visualize accounts, is anyone surprised that such a video, with such a bewildering premise—is it an homage? is it stealing? does Keith Schofield suck/rule?—exists?

I watched the other video of the fat dog breathing heavily as he hurled himself over and over in attempts to grab the treat off the sofa. My boyfriend asked, “What are you giggling about?” So I said, “I’m laughing at this fat dog trying to get treats. He can’t reach!”

Has anyone ever looked at you as though they were contemplating calling the SPCA? But in the same instant they knew they couldn’t, because by doing so they would admit they share a bed with a cruel, heartless person.
