Me: Well, you’ve given me a lot of info. I’d like to organize all of these ideas and get back to you with an appropriate quote.
Client: I’d like to get it going as soon as possible. How’s $250?
Me: Uh… that’s a little low. I’d feel more comfortable just giving you an official quote and we can see if we can work out a payment plan.
Client: Alright, how about this. I’ll give you the $250 for this project and this other project I have. It’s a porn site for this 70-year-old woman. $250 for both sites AND 15% of the profits from that site.
Me: (speechless)
Client: And I’ll blow you.

It’s a toss up between All Tomorrow’s Parties and I’m Set Free.

She’s got soul. She’s got talent. She has a work ethic that is harder and harder to find these days.

Basically anything. I won’t quote the Noodling Theme, so instead: Yelling as hard as they can / The doubters all were stunned / Heard louder than a gun /The sound they made was love
How many times have you seen 4 live?
Once. Which is more than many I know — the tickets were incredibly hard to come by and I got lucky. They haven’t been back in town since.
What is your favorite song by 7?
The first song I heard was Shampoo Suicide, and shortly after Lover’s Spit. I have a special fondness for both of them, as they were my introductions to the band that I would (seemingly) forever travel distances and endure awful crowds to enjoy.
Is there any song by 3 that makes you sad?
I can’t think of a single Elliott song that doesn’t seem to have the intention of making its listeners sad. Except maybe Baby Britain, in a Walk On The Wild Side sort of happy. Needle In The Hay evokes a lot of sadness, but that is partly to Wes Anderson’s credit. Between The Bars is probably our winner.
What is your favorite song by 9?
I love it all.
When did you first get into 2?
I’d always been interested in Nina, but with such a long career I had no idea where to start. About a year ago I tested the waters with a Greatest Hits compilation, and soon after plunged into albums such as Wild As The Wind.
How did you get into 3?
That I don’t remember as well. From a young age I had been aware of him, but it wasn’t until I invested in full albums (as appose to a few songs off limewire here and there) that I was able to appreciate him. I now have far too many Elliott songs than the average listener should.
What is your favorite song by 4?
It’s difficult to choose one. It seems that on every album I have a favorite, and to choose between Haiti and Windowsill is like having to pick one great thing when picking two will not result in any consequences except more greatness.
How many times have you seen 9 live?
Sadly none. Obviously.
What is a good memory concerning 10?
Childhood. They were the band I listened to as a kid. There was a time when they were on non-stop in my house. One of my first CDs was the Anthology 3 two-disc set. Basically anything from my childhood means I will cherish it forever. It makes moments like eagerly downloading the Annie soundtrack all the more embarrassing.
Is there a song by 8 that makes you sad?
Man, I love quizzes. The extent of possible emotions music can evoke are “happy” and “sad”. But to answer your question, Heroin.

The first that comes to mind, and I suppose this should be an indicator, is the Pogues cover of Ye Auld Triangle.
